D.H. Dhaimeler

Born in 1947, D.H. Dhaimeler is a French artist who studied at the
Fine Arts Academy in Auxerre and several other French institutes.
Arrived in Indonesia in 1969, he became famous with his paintings
of Asiatic women, which were exhibited several times abroad and
in Jakarta since 1974.

Selected Works

Formerly a Cubist painter, Dhaimeler had a Surrealism period (1983-1991) followed
by an Abstract period (1991-1996). At the end of 1996, he started a series of
geometrical abstraction paintings inspired by the music of the Frogs.

After a mystical experience, the Frogs themselves have become, sometimes, the models
for his canvases. For Dhaimeler, it is always a great pleasure to create — in limited
edition — designs of this famous mythical Frog, which, following beliefs, brings good luck
and prosperity to the owner.

The exhibition was held on 18 February 2006 - 15 March 2006.
